Racetracks Origami Tessellation

Racetracks Tessellation
an original design by solvingorigamitessellations.com

This is an intermediate level origami tessellation that uses trapezoids and triangles to create a repeating pattern around open back hexagonal twists.

The design itself is pretty simple. The trapezoids rotate around the hexagons. Then some triangles are used on their edges to repeat the center ad infinitum.

The trapezoids and hexagons are twist folds. The triangles are collapses.

It's one my less intense ideas.

The concept is a simplification of other tessellations that I've created.

It illustrates how different techniques for folding the shapes can work together in a single tessellation to facilitate even more possibilities in warping the paper.
